Our approach to sustainability
HP Funds places strong emphasis on the company’s social responsibility. This is embedded both in the way we operate and in how we manage investments. In our fund HP Invest Green Bonds, all investments are green, and securities are selected to maximise impact. Our other funds are anchored in Danish mortgage bonds, which we consider a socially beneficial instrument. First and foremost, they provide low-cost financing that supports home ownership; this increases the likelihood of ongoing maintenance and care for the surrounding environment, ultimately contributing to cleaner and better cities.
The prepayment option gives borrowers the ability to redeem their loan by repaying the outstanding principal, thereby reducing the risk of borrower insolvency when interest rates fall—an advantage that also supports labour mobility in society. And because the borrower simply issues a bond through a given mortgage institution, they can repurchase bonds in the market and deliver them back to the institution to redeem the loan. This buy-back feature means the borrower’s effective outstanding debt decreases when interest rates rise, which again reduces insolvency risk—ultimately to the benefit of the bond market, bondholders, and society as a whole.
Each year we publish a sustainability report in which we disclose ESG-related information on both our company and our investments. It can be found below together with other relevant documents.
UN PRI
At HP Fondsmæglerselskab, we have been signatories to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) since 2020, because we believe that responsible investing is essential for both society and long-term returns.
By joining the UN PRI, we commit to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into our investment process. This means that we not only assess the financial potential of an investment, but also ensure that it is ethically and sustainably sound.
As part of the UN PRI, we work actively to continuously improve and to report transparently on our progress. Our goal is to contribute to a more responsible financial sector – and to generate long-term, sustainable outcomes for our investors
UN Global Compact
HP Fondsmæglerselskab has been a participant in the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest initiative for responsible business practices, since 2020. Our membership is founded on the belief that companies play a central role in creating a more sustainable world.
Through the UN Global Compact, we commit to actively working with the ten principles covering human rights, labour rights, the environment, and anti-corruption. These principles are integrated into our daily operations as well as our investment decisions.
We report continuously on our progress and work systematically to reduce our environmental impact, promote good working conditions, and uphold high ethical standards in everything we do.
